A moderate earthquake struck with magnitude 4.8 R the sea area North off the island of Crete at 10:58 a.m. on Monday morning.
According to Geodynamics Institute, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 68km off Agios Nikolaos in East Crete.
It occurred in a depth of 55 km.
No injuries or material damages were reported.
Locals spoke of a roar sound before the tremor.
The area is being struck by several moderate earthquakes in the last couple of days.
On Sunday morning, a tremor of 4.5R occurred with epicenter 75km south of Tympaki in Herakleio Prefecture following a 3.5R with epicenter almost the same area.
A 3.9R had occurred also on Saturday, again more or less in the same epicenter area.
