Shock on the island of Corfu: a 32-year-old man was arrested by Greek police on Friday morning for the rape of a 14-year-old British girl. According to local media, the man of Albanian nationality was working in the hotel where the victim was spending her summer vacations with her family.
The victim and her family reported her rape to police on Thursday.
Immediately The Corfu Security Directorate was mobilized in this unprecedented case of a tourist been sexually assaulted by a hotel employee.
Police was quick to identify and arrest the 32-year-old alleged rapist of the 14-year-old British girl.
The man’s identification was easy once the victim described him and furthermore, he belonged to the hotel staff.
The incident reportedly took place in a hotel facility in Dasia, in the early morning Wednesday, August 14.
“He was later turned over to the police, confessing the rape,” local media report.
A case file is being filed against him, he is expected to be taken to public prosecutor during the day.
The local society is shocked.
