Earthquake rattles Athens with magnitude 4 on Richter scale

An earthquake measuring 4 on Richter scale rattled the Greek capital Athens at 9:26 on Tuesday morning. The earthquake occurred 26 km North-West of Athens in Magoula and in a depth of 10km.

No injuries or material damage were reported.

The tremor was largely felt due to its low depth.

According to seismologists, the earthquake was an aftershock of the earthquake that stroke  Athens with 5.3 R on July 19, 2019.

They are reassuring and say that 230 aftershocks occurred since July 19.
