With a pair of F-16 fighter jets, two electronic warfare aircraft and one unmanned aerial vehicle Turkey violated the Greek Airspace 18 times on Tuesday. The 18 FIR Athens violations occurred in the South-East Aegean Sea.
In two cases Greek and Turkish jets were involved in “dog-fights.”
The Turkish fighter jets flew over the island of Lipsi at a height of 24,000 ft.
According to Greek General Staff, the Turkish F-16 were armed.
The FIR Athens violations were conducted 18 times by two F-16, 2 CN-235 and 1 UAV.
The F-16 were intercepted by Greek fighter jets according to international standards and the established practice, the Greek General Staff said in a statement.
Worth noting that on Tuesday, October 29, Turkey was celebrating “the establishment of democracy” by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
