Greece health authorities announced 94 new confirmed cases on Sunday afternoon with the total number reaching 624. Two more patients passed away in the last 24 hours withe the death toll rising to 15.
The new cases practically doubled from Saturday to Sunday, when the average new cases were 30-40 every day.
A sharp increase was also recorded in the number of intubated patients who rose to 34.
A total of 124 people are hospitalized, the majority of them has serious underlying health issues.
The average age of the hospitalized patients is 64, of the intubated at 67.
14 of the dead were serious underlying health problems, the statement by the National Health Organization said. 12 of the dead were men and 3 women.
Average age of the dead was 77.
19 people have been discharged from the hospital.
The Greek government is expected to impose coronavirus total lockdown as of Sunday.
