Two more people died in Greece on Monday morning, raising the number of death toll because of coronavirus to 17, within the last couple of few days. Both victims were in designated hospitals in Athens and Patras.
One of the victims, a 64-year-old man was intubated in Rio University hospital in Patras.
A 78-year-old man was hospitalized in Sotiria hospital in Athens. He was underlying serious health problems.
According to official data released on Sunday afternoon, the number of confirmed cases are 624 across the country, with 94 of them to have been recorded within the last 24 hours.
Death toll almost doubled over the weekend.
Majority of the dead were men (15) and two women.
The sharp increase of confirmed cases and deaths as well as the fact that many Greeks continued to defy the government restrictions forced the government to impose a total lockdown as of 6:00 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2020.
