Three more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours increasing the death toll to 143, Greece’s health authorities announced on Saturday evening. At the same time, 8 new coronavirus cases were confirmed and the total number of infections stands at 2,2620.
37 patients are intubated in hospitals Intensive Care Units.
A total of 77 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
Over 78,000 tests have been conducted since the beginning of the outbreak.
Spokesman of National Heath Organization Sotiris Tsiodras said that the mobile units to conduct COVID-19 tests have started their operation.
After several controversial statements on the use of mask as of May 4, head of Civil protection Nikos Hardalias finally announced on Saturday evening that the use of mask is mandatory for citizens in:
- Public Transport Means and Taxi
- Elevators
- Hospitals, Diagnostic centers & laboratories, Doctors’ practices
Mandatory is also for those supermarket employees who deal with no packed food products.
