Greece extends 14-day quarantine for international arrivals until end of May

Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority extended on Monday the mandatory 14-day quarantine rule for all passengers arriving from abroad until midnight May 31, 2020. The quarantine was first imposed on March 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The CAA recalled in a statement that the quarantine is for all citizens arriving from abroad whether Greek or foreign nationals.

Exempted from the quarantine are: passengers in transit flights, flight crews, as well as passengers on state flights, medical and humanitarian flights, military flights, cargo flights and Frontex flights.

Violating the 14-day quarantine will punish violators with a fine of 5,000 euros.

The extension was decided in consultation with the Health Ministry, the Civil Protection and the National Health Organization (EODY).

Last week, the CAA extended ban on flights to/from 7 countries and entry of non-EU nationals.
