Greece’s health authorities announced 31new confirmed coronavirus cases with 7 of them detected among travelers to the country. Alert in Kozani, West Macedonia, and Attica as well as in a children’s summer camp in Halkidiki. According to the Health Ministry statement on Sunday evening, the total infections increased to 3,803 with the daily growth at 0.8%.
New infections recorded in the last three days are 132.
No new death has been recorded in the last six days and the death toll remains at 193.

New cases in Attica and Kozani are a cause of concern for health authorities as they have constantly increasing in the last couple of days. 9 of the cases in western Macedonia are described as “orphaned” that is without known source of contamination.
4 of the new coronavirus confirmed cases have been detected at the entry points in Greece.
Another 3 travellers voluntarily sought laboratories for Covid-19 test in the country after experiencing some symptoms. They were tested positive.
The majority of the remaining cases are located in Western Macedonia and Attica. Specifically, the new cases are:
6 in Attica and 6 in Kozani.
5 in Thessaloniki, 5 in Imathia prefecture.
1 in Halkidiki and 1 in Kastoria.
The case in Halkidiki refers to a 15-year-old girl at a children’s summer camp. The girl that rpeortedly suffers form diabetes has been transferred to a hospital since Saturday. Concerned parents have been flocking all day to the camp. 80 of a total of 900 children have already left.

According to the Health Ministry statement on Sunday, 54.5% of the total of 3,803 cases affect men.
Of the total cases, 998 (26.2%) are related to travel abroad, 1,989 (52.3%) are related to an already known case. The rest are not related to travel or another known case or are still under investigation.
Average age of the infected in 49 with age range between 0 and 102.
Number of intubated patients in ICUs has increased to 11.. Their average age is 59 years old, among them are 3 women. 80% of the patients have underlying health issues or are over 70 years old.
122 patients have been discharged from the ICUs since the beginning of the outbreak.
Number of coronavirus-related deaths remains at 193.
Among the deceased were 62 women. The average age of the deceased was 76 with range age between 35 and 102.
95.9% had underlying health issues and/or were over 70 years old.
Tests
According to the Health Ministry on Sunday, a total of 373,932 tests have been conducted since beginning of the year, 5,961 (1.6%) are positive. The data include several tests conducted on a single patient, as well.
41,316 (11%) tests have been conducted among flight passengers since June 12, the EODY statement said, adding that 84 (0.2%) are positive.
In the last four days the new cases recorded were 50 on Thursday, 60 on Friday, 41 on Saturday and 31 on Sunday with the majority of them to have been located among travellers who crossed into Greece via the Promachonas border-crossing with Bulgaria.
Greece decided that tourists via Promachonas have to show a “negative Covid-19 test” as of Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
At the same time, an increase among the local population has been recorded in the last week, as well.
On Monday, July 13, there is a broader meeting on the increased infections and some restrictions may be imposed.
PS things start to get critical in Greece, when the daily infections are above 50, health experts have said.
