British tourist drowned at beach by Heraklio on Crete

A 65-year-old British tourist drowned Saturday noon at the beach of Stalida by Heraklio on the island of Crete. The man was found dead a few meters away from the beach.

According to local media information, the lifeguard on duty at the beach saw a man floating face down in the sea.

He immediately jumped into the water and brought him to the beach. The man had no pulse.

The lifeguard reportedly applied CPR procedures, while an ambulance  was called to the spot. Neither the paramedic’s efforts could bring the man back to life.

According to local media information, the British tourist had health issues and the reasons for his death are more likely pathological.

The man had come to the island for vacations.
