Daily coronavirus cases in Greece broke an all times record in the last 24 hours, where 372 new cases were recorded. According to the official bulletin on Thursday, 164 of the cases are linked to known clusters. Media suggest that these clusters are one factory in Giannitsa, regional unit of Pella, West Macedonia, and one factory in Elefsina, west Attica.
27 of the new cases were detected among tourists.
The total infections reached 12,452.
At the same time, health authorities announced also 4 more deaths that increased death toll to 297. Two of the latest fatalities were in the age category 40-64.
Also the number of intubated patients has increased to 49.
The Civil Protection announced a series of restrictive measures (mini lockdown) in four Regional Units on Thursday due to increased epidemiological data.

According to the official daily bulletin on Thursday,, 2324 (18.7) of the total cases are related to travel abroad and 5511(44.3%) are related to already known infection case.
55.5% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs increased to 49 from 46 yesterday and 42 a day earlier.. Their average age is 70, among them are 12 women. 87.8% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
167 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Three more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 297. Of the deceased 108 were women. The average age of the deceased was 78 and 96.2% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Rolling weekly average cases at 211 from 210 last week. Below 200 was also before August 15.
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,082,401.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 16,096 with 2.31% of them positive.

Of the 372 new coronavirus cases, 345 are domestic: of them 116 are linked to the food processing factory in Pella and 29 to a recycling factory in Attica. 21 are linked to several known clusters of the previous days.
21 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another 6 travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.

Greek media report late on Thursday that epidemiologists have proposed the compulsory use of masks in- and outdoors in Attica due to increased infections. A crucial meeting with the Prime Minister is to be held on Friday.
