A new shocking record for Greece, for third consecutive day: 41 Covid-19 patients died in the past 24 hours, health authorities announced on Monday evening. The daily new confirmed coronavirus cases are 1,490 due to a very small number of tests due to weekend Sunday.
The number of intubations rose to 239 in the last 24 hours, breaking another record in the country, putting under immense pressure the health care system. An additional hospital in Thessaloniki, “Agios Pavlos”, was turned to designated Covid-19 hospital over the weekend. Patients were either discharged or transferred to other hospitals.
In Diavata prison by Thessaloniki, a total of 65 people, 59 inmates and 6 prison guards, have been tested positive since October 20.
Total cases have reached 56,698 and death toll 784.

According to the official daily bulletin on Monday, 4456 (7.7%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 15077 (27.5%) are related to already known infection case.
54.2% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs increased to 239 !!! from 229 day earlier. Their average age is 59, among them are 57 women. 87% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
329 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Fourth-one more deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 825. Of the deceased 335 were women. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 96.5% of the deceased had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
Total tests since begin of outbreak are 1,952,343.
Tests in the last 24 hours: 10,687 with 13.14% of them positive. A good, normal number with less reason for concerns is when positive is below 2%.

25 of the new cases were detected at entry points; another 2 travelers already in the country sought laboratories after they developed symptoms.
