The quarantine for those coming from abroad to Greece during the Christmas period is limited to 3 days from 10 originally announced. The measure is valid from 18. December 2020 until 7. January, 2021.
“Compulsory preventive quarantine for those traveling from abroad to Greece and entering the country from December 18, 2020 to January 7, 2021 is limited to 3 days,” government spokesman Stelios Petsas said on Friday.
The government was led to this decision, as recently there have been strong reactions by those who wanted to return to Greece from abroad and were forced to remain in quarantine for ten days.
The precautionary measures for entering the country were already strict with the obligation to present a negative Covid-19 PCR test, they said.
Since the announcement for the 10-day quarantine on December 10 protest phone calls to embassies and the Foreign Ministry were daily. Citizens sharply protested and some of them said that they were planning to travel to Greece for less than ten days.
The quarantine is an additional measure to the Passenger Location Form (PLF) and the negative molecular Covid-19 test carried out 72 hours before arrival.
Travelers will also be subject to Rapid Tests upon entry.
Where do „travelers to Greece“ are allowed to spend their “quarantine time”? Are they allowed to go to the place where they are attended?
What about going to an island like Aigina?
I am waiting for my son to come Dec.18!
