Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY has issued a weather warning s heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms and stormy winds are forecast in the next few days as a bad weather front hits the country as of the evening hours of Saturday, Dec 26, 2020.
EMY warns that the intense weather phenomena will extend to the most areas of the country on Sunday, Dec 27 and will mainly affect the islands in eastern Greece on Monday, Dec 28.
The bad weather front comes from the West.
Powerful winds are expected as well.

From the evening hours: islands in the Ionian Sea, Epirus and western Sterea.
Sunday, Dec 27
The regions mentioned above as well as western Peloponnese and western Thessaly, Central Greece, Thrace, in areas of Macedonia, gradually the rest of Greek mainland.
From the afternoon: islands of the eastern Aegean Sea and at night the Dodecanese.
Attica and the prefecture of Thessaloniki temporarily at noon hours of Sunday.

Winds
Stormy south winds of 8 Beaufort will blow on Sunday in the Ionian Sea until early in the afternoon and locally in the Aegean Sea as of noon.
