Greece’s health authorities announced on Saturday evening, 795 new coronavirus cases and 15 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of Covid-19 patients intubated in hospitals across the country stands at 257.
Death toll has reached 5,779 and the total cases stand at 156,473.
Note that the PCR tests carried out in last 24 hours are more than half fewer than the previous 24 hours.
Due the resurgence of daily Covid-19 cases, authorities placed in tougher lockdown restrictions and extended curfew several regional units from Jan 30 until Feb 8, 2021. Attica and Athens were exempted the extended curfew for practial reason. See Details here.

According to the official daily bulletin 5936 (3.8%) of the total coronavirus cases are related to travel abroad and 48939 (63.8%) are related to already known infection case.
The remaining infections are without known source.
52.0% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated patients in ICUs stands at 257 from 260 a day earlier. Their average age is 69, among them are 185(72%) men. 86.8% have underlying health problems or are aged over 70.
1,106 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 15 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 5779. Of the deceased 3397(58.8%) were men. The average age of the deceased was 79 and 95.5% of them had an underlying condition or/and was over 70 years old.
