Greece’s National Meteorological Service warns of weather deterioration with powerful rainfalls, thunderstorms and gale-force south winds in the Aegean Sea with up to 7-8 Beaufort and locally up to 9 B.
The bad weather front sets in from the West on Sunday evening and moves gradually to northern Greece, the islands of north and East Aegean Sea.

Weather forecast and affected regions
Sunday, Jan 31
From afternoon: North Ioanian Sea, Epirus, by the evening the rest of the Ionian Sea, western Macedonia, West Sterea; from late at night: Central and eastern Macedoniam, tmeporarily Thessaly, central Sterea and West Peloponnese.
Monday, Feb 1
Next to the above mentioned regions also: Thrace in the early morning hours, gradually the islands of North and East Aegean.
The intense weather phenomena are expected to weaken in the West and Macedonia from noon, Thrace in the afternoon.
They will continue in the islands of North and East Aegean until morning hours of Tuesday, Feb 2, 2021.
Winds
Gale-force south winds 7-8 Beaufort and locally probably up to 9 B on Monday.
South winds bring also the usual Sahara Dust.
