All passengers arriving from the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom between February 22 and 06:00 on March 8 must submit to a rapid test for coronavirus at the airport, the Greek Civil Aviation Auhtority (CAA) said on Monday.
The CAS said that the air directive (notam) on the two countries is supplementary to the one issued on Sunday which restricts entry to Greece of nationals from non-EU and non-SchengenAgreement countries, with exceptions that include the two countries above.
In the notam on Sunday (here also in English) , exceptions are for:
- UK, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Ruanda, South Korea, Thailand, UAE, Russia and Israel.
It is recalled that until March 8, 2021:
Seven (7) days quarantine applies on all arrivals from abroad: All passengers entering Greece from any foreign country, including the Member States of the European Union, are subject to mandatory precautionary restrictions at home or at the place of temporary residence stated on the PLF form, for seven (7) days, unless they remain in Greece for a shorter period of time, in which case the temporary restriction is valid for this period of time, ie until their departure. In addition, international passengers will be checked upon arrival upon arrival, based on the procedure provided by the Passenger Locator Form. In case tests find a positive case, the quarantine for the passenger will be valid for 14 days.
United Kingdom – 7-day quarantine and new PCR test in order to have it lifted: Especially for incoming passengers from the UK in order to be quarantined they will have to undergo a new PCR test when the 7-day period is completed.
Mandatory negative PCR test of 72 hours and completion of Passenger Locator Form: The mandatory completion of the form at the electronic address https://travel.gov.gr/ by all passengers of international flights to Greece is provided. It is also mandatory to complete the PLF form for passengers of foreign flights who are permanent residents of Greece and depart from the airports in Greece.
