- After four and a half months of lockdown, Greece is back to where it was before the lockdown was imposed on November 7, 2020.
Pressure in public hospitals in Athens and Attica is dramatic, many intubated patients are on waiting lists for an ICU bed.
At the live briefing on Wednesday, Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias called on private doctors to voluntarily join the public health system. He gave them a deadline of 48 hours and threatened them with requisition if they do not respond to the call.
The health Minister did not appear particularly concerned of the new spike as he put his hope on the vaccinations program. There will be 1.5 million inoculations by April, he underlined.
He failed to give specific numbers about the ICU beds across the country.

Anyone think that tourism won’t start in just over 9 weeks?
It shouldn’t but we all know it will
Sure it will. Vaccination.
You are doing good in vacination rates and in a fast pace. Better than Germany, for ex. That’s the solution. You’ll be much better in two months, maximum. The numbers will decrease. that’s simple logic. For now, is how people behaves.
