Greece’s authorities have placed six more areas in status of “increased epidemiological risk” (“deep red”) where tougher lockdown measures apply. Head of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias announced on Friday evening that two regional units of two islands in the Aegean and the Ionian Sea as well as four municipalities in northern Greece are placed in tougher lockdown.
Regional Units: Mykonos, Zakynthos

The tougher lockdown in these areas goes in force on Saturday morning, March 20, 2021.
In special status of additional restrictions: the island of Leros (March 18-29), Communal unit of Galatini (Voios.Siatista) (Mar 20-29).
Regional units and municipalities exit the “deep red” on Monday, March 22, as there is a significant decrease of the epidemiological load, Hardalias said. These are:
- Fokida, Samos, Arta, Lefkada, Rhodes municipality.
No change in status of remaining regional units and municipalities. Attica remain in “deep red.”
It should be recalled that a nationwide lockdown has been imposed since November 7, 2020, and is in force also in regions marked as “red.”
