Greece’s health authorities announced on Monday 1724 new coronavirus cases by much fewer tests due to the weekend. 65 people died in the past 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-19 patients keep increasing and reached 738.
Death toll has reached 7,945. Total confirmed infections since the begin of the pandemic 255,755.
At the live briefing on Monday, health authorities announced that the platform for the vaccination of age group 65-69 will open for appointments on Friday, April 2, 2021.

According to the official bulletin on Monday, based on the confirmed cases on the last 7 days, 72 are related to travel abroad and 2162 are related to already known cases.
The released data do not allow any more the clues about the rate of infections without known source of contamination.
51.5% of the infected are men.
The number of intubated coroinavirus patients stands at 738 from 735 a day earlier. Their average age is 68, among them –% are men. 82.6% have underlying health problems and/or are aged over 70.
New admissions of Covid-19 patients to hospitals are 456 (daily change +8.06%) in the last 24 hours. Average number of hospital admissions in 7 days: 447.
Average age of infected is 44 ( age range 0.2-105).
1677 people have been discharged from ICUs since the start of the pandemic in Greece.
Another 65 deaths in the last 24 hours increased death toll to 7,945. The average age of the deceased was 79 (age range 16-103). and 95.7% had underlying health problem and/or was over 70 years old.

I think that the citizens and residents of Greece should be given a statement by the Greek government explaining why they have allowed unvaccinated German tourists to travel to Crete and seemingly have freedom of movement
