Greece health authorities announced on Sunday evening, 1,955 new coronavirus infections by over 1/3 fewer tests due to weekend. 78 people died of Covid-19 complications in the last 24 hours. Among them is a 15-year-old girl.
A total of 749 patients are in ventilators in the country’s hospitals.
Death toll due to the pandemic is 8,380. Number of infections since the pandemic start stands at 275,414.
According to media report on Sunday afternoon, a 15-year-old girl was proclaimed dead in the Children Hospital Agia Sophia in Athens on Saturday night.
It was reportedly the mother who drove the consiousless teenager to the hospital. Despite doctors’ efforts the girl could not be revived. A Covid-19 test conducted turned positive.
State broadcaster ERT reported that that girl fell sick already on Monday, and she felt chest pain on Wednesday. No further details have been published.
An autopsy is to determine the exact causes of the teenager’s death.
