Greece’s health authorities announced on Wednesday evening 1,381 new coronavirus cases and 23 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients slightly increased to 486.

Health experts estimate that a herd immunity of some 70% is expected to be achieved around September.
Kikilias said that 35.51% of the population has vaccinated with at least one dose, while 2,137,000 citizens (20.39%) have been fully vaccinated.
He said that vaccinationson the islands is increasing and “there are islands where vaccinations for appointment have reached 100%.”
Islands with a record number in appointments are: Lefkada, Thassos, Paros, Mykonos and Salamina, the minister said.
Generally speaking the rate of vaccinations on the island has increased to 40$ from 22% a few days ago, he added.
