Greece issues new interactive Epidemiological Map incl. vaccination rates

Greece has launched again on Friday a new interactive Epidemiological Map that features four epidemiological levels based on indicators used by the European Center for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The purpose of the map is to inform Greeks and visitors to the country, as well as to link readiness levels with public health measures, head of Civil Protection Nikos Hardalias said at the live briefing on Friday.

This four levels corresponds to 4 colors (red, orange, yellow and green).

The map will be updated weekly at the level of Regional Unit and especially for the islands at the level of Municipality.

The update will be made by the team of epidemiologists of the Committee of Experts at the Ministry of Health in collaboration with EODY and Civil Protection and will take into account the following 13 epidemiological indicators:

• 7-day rolling cases average per 100,000 inhabitants

• 14-day number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants

• Positiveness index

• Weekly percentage of cases change

• Number of active cases

• Age distribution of cases

• Weekly number of new hospitalizations per 100,000 inhabitants

• Weekly number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants

• Vaccination coverage rate

• Active case effective reproduction rate (Rt)

• Completeness of health system

• Contact tracking analysis

• Mutation analysis

The final configuration of the epidemiological map is the result of the combined evaluation of the above indicators.

The map shows for each Regional unit or Municipality 4 basic indicators-data:

– the 7-day rolling average of cases per 100,000 inhabitants

– the positivity index (%)

-the vaccination coverage (at least one dose)

2nd. Activation of a special EODY / Civil Protection ladder in order to:
