Greece: 2,807 coronavirus cases, 38 deaths; 388 intubations; distribution

Greece’s health authorities announced on Tuesday 2,807 new coronavirus cases and 38 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospital Intensive Care Units increased again to 388.

The government appeals to parents to have their children aged 12-17 vaccinated against Covid-19 before the schools begin again on September 13.

However, there are parents who are reluctant, even if they have got vaccine jabs themselves. Or cases where one parent agree to child’s vaccination against Covid-19, while the other disagree.

The government is considering to assign pediatricians to carry out vaccines to children, even though there are practical problems like keeping the vaccines in appropriate temperatures or surplus of doses, when a vial opens.

The government announced on Tuesday it will make available 6 free rapid tests for students for the month of September.
