Greece’s health authorities announce don Wednesday 2,187 new coronavirus cases and 44 deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospital ICUs stands at 323.
Media report on Wednesday evening that three regional units in northern Greece and one in Central Greece will be placed on mini lockdown as of Friday, October 1. More details when the Civil Protection makes it official.
Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 653,535 infections (daily change: +0.3%). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 77 infections are related to travel from abroad and 3,183 to other confirmed cases.
44 Covid-related deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, bring the total of pandemic victims to 14,795. Of these, 95.4% had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or over.
323 Covid-patients are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 66 years and 80.5% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or over.
Of the intubated total, 292 (90.4%t) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 31 (9.6%) are fully vaccinated.
3,152 Covid-patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
206 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change:+42.07 %). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 178.
The median age of new infections is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
