Greece’s health authorities announced on Thursday 2,232 new coronavirus cases and 33 deaths in the past 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients in hospital Intensive Care Units slightly increased to 326.
Average age of the new infections is 33 years old.
Positivity rate across the country has decreased and is at 1%.
Hospitalized Covid-patients across the country are below 2,000.
Authorities noted that infections have increased in regions with low vaccination coverage.
They reportedly also said that Greece together with Cyprus are the two EU countries with the highest number of Covid-19 tests. They cited ECDC data saying that there are approximately 300,000 tests on daily basis.

Since the pandemic began, Greece has confirmed 655,767 infections (daily change: +0.3%). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 71 infections are related to travel abroad and 3205 to other confirmed cases.

50.9% of the infected are men.
There are 33 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, the total of pandemic victims 14,828. Of these, 95.4% had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.

A total of 326 Covid-patients – from 323 a day earlier – are on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 66 years. 64.4% are men. 79.8% have an underlying condition and/or are aged 70 or more.
According to EODY among the intubated patients:
293 (89.88%) are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated
33 (10.12%) are fully vaccinated

3,160 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic began.
158 Covid-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours (daily change: -23.3%). The average admission of patients with Covid-19 to hospitals over the last 7 days was 177.

The median age of new infections is 39 years (range: 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of the deceased is 78 (range: 0.2 to 106 years).
