Explosion and fire in factory by Corinth; young worker killed (video)

An explosion and a fire in a factory near Corinth, north-western Peloponnese, has killed a 27 year-old worker. Another man working next to the factory was transferred injured in the hospital.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and found the charred body during their fire extinguishing efforts.

The fire started at 13:30 early afternoon on Monday at a vinegar manufacturing and bottling factory in Examilia, Corinth.

n arson investigation unit from Corinth has been sent to determine the cause of the fire.

At the time of the explosion, five people were in the factory. Four of whom managed to get out quickly.

The killed worker was a person of about 25 years old, who was carrying out welding work.

A person who was in an adjacent building is being treated at the Corinth hospital

The fire reached large proportions and the factory was completely burned down.

According to media information, a deafening bang was heard throughout the area. Continuous explosions occurred at the site and were heard several kilometers away.

According to latest information, the fire was caused by an explosion in a propane tank located in the factory.

The firefighting work continues, while the Corinth The Arson Department of the local Fire Service investigates the reasons for the explosion.

PS there have been much too many fires in factories lately and I wonder how they happen #not. From the first information in all cases, it appears that compliance with safety measures has not be applied properly
