Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will address the nation on the course of the pandemic and ahead of the holiday season. The televised message is scheduled on Thursday, Novembe 18, 2021.
Citing sources, media report that the Prime Minister will stress the importance of curbing the virus’ spread ahead of the holiday season and urge citizens to get vaccinated. He will call on those who have received two doses to get the booster shot, as well.
In addition, PM Mitsotakis will reportedly announce also government initiatives to curb the fourth pandemic wave.
It is not clear if he will announce also more restrictions for unvaccinated citizens, although some media noted that.
According to state broadcaster ERT, unvaccinated citizens will be restricted also during the Christmas season.
Greece has recently seen the number of coronavirus infections to skyrocket, while deaths and intubations in hospitals keep on rising each and every day, putting the public health care system under immense pressure..
