Diavata prison placed in lockdown after coronavirus outbreak

At least 40 inmates in Diavata prison by Thessaloniki have been tested positive for Covid-19 during a testing drive carried out this week.

The inmates have reportedly either mild symptoms or not at all.

According to media reports approximately three quarters of the prisoners have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

A prison in the northern port city of Thessaloniki has been put on lockdown following a coronavirus outbreak.

The coronavirus outbreak forced the prison management to impose lockdown and no visitors will be allowed until further notice.
