Daily coronavirus cases in Greece remain well below 10,000 in the last couple of days as many have left the big cities for the 4-day-long Easter weekend.
On Tuesday, health authorities announced 4,727 new cases and 41 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The number of intubated Covid-patients across the country’s hospitals stands at 267.
Positivity rate on April 26 of 7,328 PCR + 56,337 Rapid Tests: 7.42%
Infections rolling average 5,493 from 8,022 last week.
Among those intubated 53.93% are unvaccinated or partly vaccinated and 46.07% are fully vaccinated.
Since the start of the pandemic a total of 3,290,895 have been confirmed positive to coronavirus, while the total number of deaths reached 28,976.
Hospitalizations – Rolling average: 182 from 237 last week.

The effects of the Easter holidays is expected to be seen 10 to 15 days later.
It should be recalled that the Greek government will abolish the showing of vaccination or recovery certificates or negative Rapid test to access indoor facilities as of May 1 and will lift the measure of wearing masks indoors as of June 1, 2022. – More details in English on KTG here.

What a joke this is. “Deaths remain high”… they are not dying because of covid, they are dying with covid. They even said it themselves the other day so why are they continuing counting people with 8 pre-existing illnesses and 96 years of age as covid deaths?! How many people have died due to covid? Are there any excess deaths or are we back to normal months ago?
