A police major operation at Greece’s Krystallopigi border control check point at the border with Albania has led in the arrest of at least 14 people: seven police and customs officers and seven civilians of Albanian nationality.
the operation of the Internal Affairs Unit of the Greek police followed a complaint that Greek officers were supplying Albanian nationals with fake passports in order to facilitate them to work in the country.
Among other, the Internal Affairs Units have collected evidence via the monitoring of phone conversations between the suspects.
Investigation continues and searches are being conducted in houses various cities of western Macedonia, media report.
The arrestees are expected to be brought to the prosecutor of Kastoria on Tuesday.
Announcements are expected by the Ministry of Citizen Protection, when the investigation concludes.
