A van caught fire and started moving backwards and downhill on a street in the city of Rethymno in the island of Crete on Thursday morning.
The 70-year-old driver managed to get of the moving vehicle without injuries.
Without the driver and out of control, the van continued its route backwards and given the rush hour, around 8 o’ clock in the morning, the incident could have fatal impact to other drivers and pedestrians, local media cretapost reported.
The car stopped its “crazy” course in a house yard.
Video:
The Fire Department rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
