The charred body of a missing shepherd was found on Tuesday at a hard to access area in Platanistos of Karystos, in south Evia currently battling fires.
Concerned about the safety of his sheep, the 41-year-old man went out on Sunday afternoon to move his animals to a place safe from the fires.
He had been missing since then.
His brother formally notified local police on Monday.
The family went to the pen where they found the animals safe, but no trace of the missing man.
His family found his charred body in a hut.
According to state ERT TV, the man was found charred and sitting inside a hut, where he seems to have been trapped by the flames, trying to save his animals.
Although formal identification is pending, his relatives believe it is his body.
