Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY issued an emergency bulletin on Thursday warning of weather deterioration with heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms.
The weather will deteriorate from noon on Friday, November 10, until late Saturday night, November 11, 2023.
Forecast are heavy rainfalls and storms, which will be accompanied by hail and a high frequency of lightning.

Affected will initially be the islands of Ionian Sea and western Peloponnese and gradually in the rest of western Greece. The phenomena will gradually extend towards the central and northern mainland as well as the eastern Aegean islands.
The winds on the seas will be blowing with gale-force up to 8 Beaufort.

A. Heavy rains and storms are forecast:
Friday, Nov 10
a. From noon in the Ionian, Epirus, Western Mainland and Western Peloponnese.
b. From the afternoon hours, the rest of Sterea and Peloponnese, the islands of the Eastern Aegean and possibly the southern parts of Thessaly will be affected.
Saturday, Nov 11
a. From the morning hours in the northern Ionian, Epirus, western Macedonia, western Sterea, the southern parts of the Eastern Peloponnese and Kythira.
b. From noon in central Macedonia, eastern Macedonia and possibly Thrace.
c. Towards the evening the phenomena will weaken in most areas and will be limited to the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.
B. Southern winds blowing with intensity 7 to 8 Beaufort will blow in the Aegean from the morning hours of Saturday, Nov 11, until late afternoon.
Note that strong southern winds may affect sea traffic.
