Bomb threats at three embassies, Parliament building in Athens

Bomb threats were reported at the embassies of the United States, Israel, and Egypt and the Greek Parliament in Athens on Friday.

The warning calls were made to Skai channel this morning for the placement of an explosive device at the United States embassy in Ilisia, to Kontra Channel for the Israeli embassy in Psychiko and to Open TV for the Egyptian embassy in the center of Athens as well as for the parliament building, daily efsyn reported.

All the callers said that the bombs would go off at 11:30.

Police bomb squads were swiftly deployed to the named sites under alleged threat.

However, investigation and searches on the spots  did not reveal anything suspicious and the bomb-calls were merely a bad prank.
