Mitsotakis to Putin: “We will not be afraid, we will continue to support Ukraine”

“We all have a message for the Kremlin: We will not be afraid, we will continue to support Ukraine and its brave citizens for as long as it takes. And we remain united on this issue,” Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday.

Addressing the members of the European People’s Party in Bucharest, a day after a Russian missile hit Odessa and exploded near the convoy with the Greek Premier heading for a meeting with president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Mitsotakis said:

“I was in Odessa with President Zelensky yesterday when a ballistic missile hit the port. I think we all have a message for the Kremlin: We will not be afraid, we will continue to support Ukraine and its brave citizens for as long as it takes. And we remain united on this issue.”

He added that “we showed our support to Ukraine in a way that was surprising to some of our enemies,” and noted that Europe has never shown such a response, with the sanctions on Russia and with the support of Ukraine militarily and financially.

“No violation of international law and no attempt to change borders by force will be accepted by our political family,” the Greek PM stated.
