Τhe Athens Municipality has postponed a concert scheduled under the auspices of the Israeli embassy for security reasons, Mayor Haris Doukas announced on Monday.
The concert was scheduled to take place on April 29.
The postponement of the concert by the musical ensembles of the Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth of the Municipality of Athens (OPANDA) at the Olympia theater was proposed by the mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas to the Board of Directors, media reported.
As stated in the official announcement of the Municipality, the organization of the concert was decided in May 2023 by the previous administration of OPANDA and was placed under the auspices of the embassy of Israel.
Taking into account the dramatic developments in the Middle East region, the decision of the Municipality’s Musician Workers’ Union (“in the event of the concert, the conditions may not be safe for both the performers and the audience”) and the concerns that were formulated at the last meeting of the municipal council, it is decided that the concert of the musical groups of OPANDA must be postponed for security reasons.

‘Taking into account the dramatic developments in the Middle East region’ or should it have said ‘Taking into account the Genocide perpetrated by Israel and ‘the rules based order’ countries’
Lol, you’re comment was made possible in the safety of your home that these ‘rules based countries’ provided for you, such is the world we live in, nothing comes untarnished, live with it .
