Three girls aged 5, 7 and 10 have died and an unknown number of migrants is still missing after a boat crashed on a rocky beach on the island of Chios in the eastern Aegean Sea.
19 people have been rescued so far, local media reported on Wednesday morning.
The girls’ mother has survived together with her two other children and has been transferred to Kardamyla together with other survivors.
According to latest information from alithia.gr , the Fire Brigade has recovered the bodies of the three girls from the rocky shore and transferred them to the port of Chios.
The migrants boat grounded three days ago, survivors told authorities.
The migrants are from Afghanistan and they left Turkey on a dinghy.
A Search and Rescue operation in the area continues.
