Google LLC will carry out 3D mapping across Greece from February 4 to October 30, 2025, as part of efforts to update its Maps and Street View services.
The project will cover Attica, Crete, Epirus, Macedonia, Thrace, the Peloponnese, Thessaly and the Aegean and Ionian islands.
Specially marked “Google Street View” vehicles will collect images, with automatic blurring of faces and license plates to protect privacy.
Residents can request additional blurring of homes or objects and may file objections under Greek and EU privacy laws. Google will process these requests within five days.
The company has confirmed that raw data will not be shared with third parties.
For further details, users are encouraged to review Google’s Privacy Policy.
PS Just when I was wondering how to spend quality time I found out that I can dig into Google’s Private Policy as well as into Greek and EU law in order to file my my objections.
Get out of my cloud, everyone who makes my daily life difficult. I’m seriously fed up!

I’m on google maps and I love it, my kids can see me walking down the road when I’m gone …unless google removes the view
no private video for your kids to see you?
It’s just a pic of me walking home from work, and no I’m of the age where we didn’t make videos. I think it’s a nice memory to see me walking down the street.
More invasion of privacy !
Just when you thought it was safe to go out .
Great opportunities to ‘moon’ them and to reenact fake murders on the street.
People used to have a copy of everyone’s address AND phone number in a book delivered right to their door, free of charge.
And now this.
