Students hold Tempi rallies in Athens & other Greek cities

High-school students and teachers as well as university students rallied in Athens and other major Greek cities on Friday demanding “Justice” for the 57 victims of the train disaster in Tempi in February 2023.

In Athens, protesters gathered outside the Athens University and marched to the Parliament at Syntagma Square.

They chanted “Murderers! Murderers!”

Outside the Parliament, they held a minute of silence and launched a sit-in protest.

Inside the Parliament, lawmakers held a debate on the censure motion tabled by four opposition parties against the conservative government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis over the handling of the Tempi case and investigation as well grave omissions in the modernization of the railway system.
