Starting on 1. April 2025, citizens in Greece must clean their plots and fields for fire-prevention reasons and to submit a relevant declaration on a designated online platform.
Declarations can be submitted to a Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection website at https://akatharista.apps.gov.gr until April 30.
Failure to comply may result in significant penalties. Property owners who do not submit the required declaration face a €1,000 fine, while false declarations carry a penalty of up to €54,000 and a prison sentence of up to two years.
