Greece’s National Meteorological Service EMY issued a warning about weather deterioration with rainfalls, snow and significant temperature drop in the next few days.
The bad weather front coming form the Balkans is forecast to strike first northern Greece with locally heavy rains and storms, a noticeable drop in temperature and heavy snowfalls mainly in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of Macedonia and Thrace on Sunday afternoon, April 6, 2025. 
A weather improvement is forecast as of Thursday, April 10.
EMY WEATHER WARNING
A. Locally heavy rains and storms
1. On Sunday, April 6, in eastern Macedonia and Thrace in the afternoon and evening hours and in the evening in the northeastern Aegean Sea, the region of Lemnos island.
2. On Monday, April 7, until noon in the islands of the Eastern Aegean Sea.
B. Locally heavy rains in the morning hours of Monday, April 7, in eastern Thessaly, the Sporades islands and northern Evia.
C. Locally heavy snowfalls
1. From the night of Sunday to Monday and until noon on Monday in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of Thrace and Macedonia in areas with an altitude of 400 meters and above) and locally in the prefecture of Evros and in lowland areas.
2. In the morning hours of Monday in the mountainous areas of Epirus and Thessaly.
D. Noticeable drop in temperature from Sunday afternoon in Macedonia and Thrace and gradually on Monday and Tuesday in central and southern Greece.
Frost in the northern part of the country on the evening of Monday and in the interior of all of mainland Greece on the morning and evening of Tuesday and Wednesday and the morning of Thursday.
