Metro and bus services to and from the Athens International airport are strengthened on May 28 and 29, 2025, due to the 48-hour strike on the Attica taxi union on these two days.
Aim of strengthening of the metro and bus routes is to facilitate the movement of citizens and visitors of Athens, due to the strike of public passenger vehicles. authorities said.
The Airport express bus lines
The bus lines that will be reinforced on May 28 and 29 are the following:
X95 Syntagma – Athens Airport (Express): every 15 minutes,
X96 Piraeus – Athens Airport (Express): every 12 minutes,
X93 Intercity Bus Station Kifissos Avenue – Athens Airport (Express): every 15 minutes,
X97 Athens Airport – Elliniko Station (Express, circular): every 30 minutes.

Airport Metro Routes
The Metro routes to and from the Athens Airport will be reinforced, from 9.30 in the morning to 16.00 in the afternoon.
An additional reinforcement train is being run, which will operate the route Doukissis Plakentias – Airport – Doukissis Plakentias.

Earlier on Wednesday, representatives of the taxi drivers had a meeting with the Deputy Transport Minister in charge to discuss the reason that lead them to the 48-hour strike – details on KTG –, for the third time within a few months, and find solution to the problems of the sector.
