Five adults, one child injured in car-bus collision in central Athens

Five adults and one 5-year-old child, passengers on a public bus, were slightly injured in a collision between a city bus and a private car at the intersection of Syngrou Avenue and Kallirois Street in downtown Athens on Wednesday afternoon.

According to media, the driver of the bus line 550 operating the route Voula- Kifissia braked sharply when a private car entered the lane in front of him, in order to turn right onto Kallirois Street.

The accident occurred around 4:30 when people were returning from their work or the beach, with the bus being full and many standing passengers. They fell down due to the collision, Alpha TV reported.

A motorcycled unit of the Ambulance service rushed to the collision site and treated the injured on the spot. Ambulances took the injured adults were taken to Evangelismos Hospital, while the child was taken to a Children’s Hospital, all for precautionary reasons.
