A 29-year-old German tourist died during his vacation on the island of Crete on Thursday. Authorities investigate the circumstances of his death.
According to reports, the man had consumed a considerable amount of alcohol before he fainted and died within a couple of hours.
The young man was walking on the sidewalk of a street of Plakia by Rethymnon on Wednesday afternoon, when he suddenly felt very unwell and fainted.
According to cretapost, the tourist was taken to Rethymno Hospital by a friend after he fainted.
He had reportedly sustained injuries from the fall with some media to claim “head injuries” and other “broken ribs.”
The young German tourist died a few hours later in the hospital, early Thursday morning.
Doctors informed the police about the incident.
An autopsy has already been ordered to clarify the exact causes of his death, while authorities are investigating the case.
