Public transport workers in Athens will hold work stoppages at the start and end of their shifts on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in response to a 24-hour general strike called by union federations in protest against the “new anti-labor bill of the Ministry of Labor”.
The Athens metro, tram, and electric railway (ISAP) will all operate from 09:00 until 17:00.
Buses and trolleys will run from 09:00 to 21:00.
Trains and the suburban (Proastiakos) railway will be on a 24-hour strike.

Transport workers’ unions, through their announcements, expressed their opposition to the “anti-labor bill” which, they said, establishes 13-hour working days. They demanded, among others, the immediate withdrawal of the bill’s anti-labor provisions, urgent hiring, decent working conditions, and public, safe, and comfortable transport services for passengers, users, and all citizens.
A protest rally is scheduled to start at 11:00 at Syntagma Square opposite the Greek Parliament in downtown Athens.
