A tornado in Kalpaki by Ioannina in north-western Greece, completely destroyed a large poultry farm, leaving 40,000 chicken dead.
The tornado on Wednesday night completely leveled the walls of the three buildings of the farm that fell on the chicken and killed them. The life of the family owning the poultry farm, the largest in the area, has turned into rubble within minutes.

The force of the wind tore everything apart. Where the business was, a pile of materials has been left behind. The destruction is complete, while damage has also been caused to other buildings.
The stromy weather that struck Epirus on Wednesday night has also severely damaged infrastructure including the water network and caused landslides


According to local media, there are many problems in the road network, mainly in the Municipalities of Voreion and central Tzoumerka, with continuous landslides and subsidence occurring.
One of the biggest problems was in Katarrakti, where the road suffered significant subsidence and also swept away the water supply network.
Thursday morning the Municipality announced that after several hours and great effort, the water supply to Katarrakti, Graikiko and Koukoulia was restored.
On Wednesday evening, authorities had sent warning sms to residents and visitors to be aware of upcoming dangerous weather phenomena foreast by the Greek National Meteorological Service EMY.

It’s not just a business, it’s 40,000 individual chickens that perished horribly because of human greed! Not sure what’s worse, this or the slaughterhouse. I am sure of what’s better: not breeding animals for human exploitation.
