A new public opinion poll conducted in April 2026, shows that ruling conservative party New Democracy appears to suffer notable losses, main opposition party, socialist PASOK remains stable on the second position and the new political movement of Maria Karystianou is recorded as the third political party in the voters’ intention.

The poll results signal that Greek voters are seeking alternatives and it is worth noting that Karystianou’s movement has not published a party’s program neither she has frequent appearance on TV and other media. Maria Karystianou is the mother of one of the 57 victims of the Tempi train tragedy who managed to move crowds of people to demand justice.
In terms of suitability for governing, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis retains a clear lead with 29.8%. However, the second-most popular response — “no one” — follows at 26.6%, underscoring broader dissatisfaction with the political class.
Public demand for early elections appears to be strengthening. According to the poll, 56% of respondents favor going to the ballot box before the end of the government’s term, while 40% prefer completing the full four-year mandate.
On the issue of the OPEKEPE scandal 35% of respondents attribute responsibility primarily to political interference, while 28% point to long-standing structural weaknesses in the state.
The survey also highlights ongoing debate over changes to Greece’s electoral system. A plurality of respondents (45%) support a mixed system combining preference voting and party lists, while 44% favor retaining the traditional preference vote.

Could I make a suggestion, KTG. I’ve noticed that Greek media always seem to publish statistical information in sentences listing the figures for different items. It is very difficult to absorb statistical information presented this way. It would be better to present the information in a table or some form of chart. For example in this case you could have three columns with the parties in the first column, the current poll in the second column and the previous poll in the third column. Putting the rows in descending order also aids understanding. A paired bar chart would also work.
This is not a criticism but a suggestion that would set KTG apart in a positive way from other Greek media.
