Greece’s Education Ministry announced on Monday the launch of a free-of-charge telephone line for the psychological support and counseling for students participating in the university entrance exams 2026 as well as for their families.
The helpline phone number is <1550> and operates from May 25 until June 30, 2026.
At the initiative of Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki, a dedicated helpline has been established using the number 1550, staffed by psychologists from the Centres for Interdisciplinary Assessment, Counselling and Support across the country, as well as from the Ministry of Health.
The purpose of the service is to provide psychological support to exam candidates and their families. Calls are free of charge for all subscribers of telecommunications providers, and the service will operate from Monday May 25 until June 30, 2026.
“The Panhellenic Examinations are, admittedly, a demanding process for both candidates and their families. We are by their side. We are not leaving any child to fend for itself,” Zacharaki underlined, while also emphasizing a strong message to students: “Speak up. Continue to pursue your dreams.”
The university entrance exams throughout the country are a cause of distress for many high-school students who target a higher education.
