The interview:

What time did you feel the earthquake?

I was working on the computer in my room when the first earthquake came. It was very strong. I got scared, I flipped out, I said to myself “what to do now?”. Because the tremble was kept going, and even becoming stronger… I heard things in the bathroom falling and I went under the desk. Afterwards I moved to the ground floor.

What i shappening now?

Now there are continuous aftershocks. We have gathered at the ground floor and are sitting in the common kitchen.

Are there is serious damages or dead?

They are talking of  3 deaths so far. The most serious thing is the tsunami risk that can reach up to 10 meters. The department stores and supermarkets here in the area have closed.

What are the scientists saying there?

Scientists talk of a tsunami on the eastern coast. They tell people to go inland and as high as possible.

Are the locals are scared?

Basically I heard  them they run down quickly, but generally they are  calm. We just had a very strong aftershock.

Is the organization  good?

The organization is good. I think so. I’m a bit outside in the suburbs, but generally everything got l closed immediately. Airports and such to check if it’s okay. But also for fear of tsunami.

Christina said that there are quite some Greeks living in Japan and after the earthquake they are in touch with their own people via internet, via Facebook as they telephone lines have been cut.
